Viewmont High School
Taylorsville High School
The Vikings traveled to Taylorsville and lost a tough game in overtime 66-64. After jumping out to a quick lead early in the game, the Warriors from Taylorsville made a run and led the majority of the game. Viewmont trailed by as many as 10 points and then scratched their way back into the game with some pressure defense. Heading down the stretch, the Vikings had the ball the last possession of regulation, but could not get off a very good shot and went into overtime, where they again took a one-point lead on several occasions but could not get a critical stop and lost a tough one.
Viewmont was led by Lewis Johnson with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Weston Taylor and Parker Kearns both chipped in with 10 points apiece. But difference in the game was Taylorsville advantage on the boards (40 to 30) and shooting 46% from the field. The Vikings travel to play at Riverton on Friday.
